Obituary for Harrison Call, Jr. appearing in our local newspaper.
Harrison W. Call, Jr. entered into rest at his Cloverdale home on July 5 at the age of 69. A native of San Mateo, he was a public utility consultant with over 40 years experience. He was also a member of the Sonoma County Culinary Guild. His primary areas of expertise were general utility management, contracts and rate matters, planning, finance and regulatory and litigation management. During the course of his career, he presented policy and expert testimony before state and federal regulatory agencies, state legislative and congressional committees and courts of law. Harrison completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Sacramento, majoring in economics and business administration. He completed graduate work in economics at the University of Oregon. In 1994, his appreciation of fine wine, and his love of the wine country, resulted in his relocating to Sonoma County from Eugene, OR. After setting up his office in Healdsburg, he had a Realtor take him on a tour of Cloverdale. The minute he saw the property on Hiatt Road, he knew he had found his new home. Shortly thereafter, he moved his business to Cloverdale, as well. Harrison was well liked by everyone who knew him. He was the loving father and father-in-law of Michelle and Jay Johnson, John S and Angela Call, and Lee Ellen Jennings, all of Charlotte, NC, and cherished grandfather of 5, dear brother of Marcia Brown Field of Sacramento. A private celebration will be held at a later date. Contributions in Harrison’s memory may be made to the Soroptomist International of Cloverdale, PO Box 1022, Cloverdale, CA 95425. Funds will be used to benefit youth activities in Cloverdale.
